India has no shortage of trained cosmetic surgeons.
They have the requisite training and expertise
in the latest cosmetic procedures at par with
the best in the world. Hospitals in India have
state of the art technology and equipment for
conducting cosmetic procedures. The Independent
reports from London that more than 10,000 British
citizens come to India every year for liposuction,
facelifts and breast enhancements. They combine
their medical treatment with a holiday for recovery
at a fraction of the cost in Britain. For example,
a liposuction costs about 6500 pounds in Britain
while it would cost just 1500 pounds in India
including the cost of the holiday. Maxillo-facial
surgery and correction of congenital defects
like cleft lip correction is also done. Other
popular cosmetic treatments include treatment
of male gynecomastia, face-lift with Botox
injections, buttock enhancement,
thigh lift, brachiaplasty,
skin grafting, and vitilago
treatment involving melanocyte transfer. Many
hospitals perform genital reconstructive surgery
for reconstructive purposes like, labiaplasty,
hoodectomy, and clitoridectomy
and in some cases gender change operations.
Some procedures require advance payment in order
to procure the necessary material in advance.
